I really don't think I can cope much more, I started Cimzia last Thursday and my god has it hit me hard. I wasn't feeling right since taking it, very run down, exhausted (more so than usual), stomach pains, awful headache and then this morning I wake up to the mother of all colds. I am so fed up I want to scream, I feel weak and hurt all over and just can't take no more Sad So sorry to moan just don't know what else to do!! xxxxxxx Thank you for listening.

Hi Nat,

I'm really sorry you are feeling so bad. Unfortunately, when you start new medications the adjustment period can be awful sometimes. The good news is that it does usually improve with time though. I haven't take Cizima so can't offer specific advice regarding that, but I have had awful side effects at the beginning of drug treatments. It might be worth you investigating what the normal time frame for adjusting is, and I am sure there will be lots of helpful people here who will be able to offer you advice.

Can you try to get some rest? I think I remember you have young children, which I know makes it hard, but if you can get some rest do try to.

Hang on in there. Either the side effects will improve, or you can try a different medication. This is just the trial and error stage.

Take care x

Hi Louisa,

Thank you so much for your words of support.

Trying to rest as much as possible but still feeling very rough today, feels like it is now on my chest and awful mouth ulcer to top it all off, I will see how things go over the weekend and if no better will ring my nurse on Monday.

Hi Nat

I really do empathize with you. I started cimzia in June and felt so ill after the second loading dose. I felt like I had been hit by a truck and couldn't get out of bed. The side effects did get better for me once you drop down to a single dose every fortnight. I really hope things improve for you. Changing drugs is so challenging. I thought cimzia was working well for me until I recently found out my CRP was sky high.

Best of luck with the cimzia, I really hope it works for you and you feel a bit better soon. You may need some antibiotics for your chest, have a word with your GP.

Best wishes
REbecca

Hi Rebecca,
Thank you for your reply, I am so glad to hear that your side effects didn't last and that gives me some hope I am a nightmare for the meds I seem to have reactions to everything!!. I went to the doctor last night and got some antibiotics although she was more concerned about the cold sores I seem to be developing so she gave me cream and said if I don't treat them they could turn nasty and into something more serious, I have ulcers and boils also..........oh the joys!!

Thanks again for your support I hope you are doing well xx
